The core business for EWI has traditionally been the refurbishment
of social housing. To reduce the U value calculations of traditional
concrete panel, low and high rise tower blocks, in line with current
legislation, EWI has proved to be the most suitable method of insulation.
EWI is simply a cost-effective method of protecting the structure
of the building, extending its useful life and enhancing the living
conditions of its inhabitants.
EWI - A solution for all types of building technology
Over the last decade, changing legislation and improved construction
methods have altered building technology dramatically. From solid
wall construction and the use of AAC blocks, to fast build technologies
such as metal and timber frames and prefabricated sectional panels.
As well as addressing the needs of more traditional construction
methods, EWI has responded and adapted to the requirements of these
new technologies. However, with all of these technologies, an external
finish is required.
Solid wall construction
In response to changing legislation and economic factors, solid
wall construction is one of the fastest growing methods of building
today.
Solid wall construction allows wall dimensions to be kept to a
minimum.
Metal frame construction
Metal frame is perceived as being a 'fast track' building technology.
Light in weight, when used in conjunction with EWI, buildings can
be made wind and weather tight very quickly.
Timber frame construction
The combination of timber frame construction and EWI produces some
of the most thermally efficient buildings. U values as low as 0.20
W/mK can be achieved using this method.
